I met Abou first at the Peace Research Institute of Oslo and in an instant felt his invincible kind heart and generous nature of open kindness.A determined and unusual man. Abou entered the heart of the Taiji Center immediately and won the respect and admiration of all who heard his moving and tragic story from Burundi. We embraced him as family and were delighted when his heart was turned to fall in love with Vidal and find himself a spouse. What a fabulous wedding we had sending them off to Africa to start a new life. We were so happy to hear the news of Vidal being with child and then suddenly stunned so soon afterwards hearing the tragic news of Abou`s passing in a tragic car accident, 11:03:13. How can it be so. Such a gentle man suddenly gone. You will always be with us Abou and we gain strength from the abundant love that you bestowed on us constantly and unconditionally. Your child will know from us what you meant to so many, rest assured. Your wish to cont inue your study of Taiji and Kungfu in Wudangshan never came to fruition but the candle has been lit there by Bjarte in your remembrance. Your work as a Human Rights visionary and leader of youth through the NTS program Martial Arts for Peace developed the moment you returned to Africa, thank you for planting these Seeds of Silence for us, we will honor your work building this fertile ground of peace in your loving memory.
RIP Abou Bakar Johnson
