We have just come through our first week of the National Dugnad, I feel humbled full of gratitude that I am living in Norway and to see how we are coping with the situation at hand. The opportunity to practice and strengthen the will and depth of deep connectedness to self has emerged for us by having to mostly stay at home and stay close to those we love and care for. Also to take heed of our behaviour more than ever.
The first week of classes with Zooming is blooming and has offered me the privilege to be present with many of you in your homes and join me in mine. Technology keeps us close as we are asked to be apart with distance for all our sakes during this Spring Equinox.
The up and coming week will continue with classes as usual and I hope you will contact me if you have any challenges or wishes around this. We have managed to solve all sound technical problems and so things should go even more smoothly into our profound practice together.
Extra note for practitioners:
We have received permission to practice in the grounds of Akershus Fortress on Mondays from 17.00-18.00. All students are invited to come and practice both members and non-members - warm welcome. Entry via Kirkegt.
We will honour the 2 metres distance between us.
Take precautions as directed by the national guidelines in travelling to and fro.
Notes for class attendance:
During the closure of the Taiji Centre these days I have set up an internet teaching platform through Zoom.
This will enable us to continue classes from the comfort of our homes and encourage us to maintain a steady practice through these trying times.
The classes will occur at the usual time and be open for questions and reflections together so we may take care of our class community.
My hope is this will inspire you to more practice in your homes and see this challenge as an opportunity for more self reflection and deep changes.
Here is our protocol for joining once you’ve opened the Zoom invitation I will send to you just before your class:
1. You need to set up your camera either on mobile, computer or smart TV showing your whole body if possible. (See my enclosed picture)
2. Have enough space around you to practice the form.
3. Double click on Pamela's picture to pin the video.
4. You don’t have to download zoom to join.
5. You can just listen to the audio and join in while in your garden or in a park.
6. Mute your computer during the teaching unless you have a question.
7. Prepare for tea after the class.
I hope you will all join for the class and give it a try, it was great fun last week.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any queries. This is indeed a wonderful opportunity to stay connected these days.
I just also remind you that I am practicing every morning from 08.00-09.00 and evening 18.00-19.00 (when there isn’t a class) so there is also an opportunity there to join in without video.
I will post the practice program on the web site for those who wish to follow.
Looking forward to inner internet teaching soon. Welcome to my home.
Take care of one another and breathe in the dantien.
In harmony with the Tao,
the sky is clear and spacious,
the earth is solid and full,
all creature flourish together,
content with the way they are,
endlessly repeating themselves,
endlessly renewed.
When man interferes with the Tao,
the sky becomes filthy,
the earth becomes depleted,
the equilibrium crumbles,
creatures become extinct.
The Master views the parts with compassion,
because he understands the whole.
His constant practice is humility.
He doesn't glitter like a jewel
but lets himself be shaped by the Tao,
as rugged and common as stone.
